Living Spaces for Individuals
The modern approach for patient accommodation is to provide single rooms with en-suite bathrooms opposed to multi-bed wards. Single bedrooms allow patients space for personal everyday living and sleeping. General lighting and reading lighting should be provided and aim to create a domestic/hotel feel. The luminaires should be robust and classified as anti-ligature as staff may not be present. Manual control with dimming can enhance the domestic ambiance by providing user control over their environment. The Eco Touch AL can be used to provide pre-set dimming levels plus manual override from outside the bedroom.
